Iced coffee to break the routine. As I write this post, I'm having a delicious NESCAFÉ© Clásico™ granita. I fell in love with iced coffee, back in the time I was a grad student in New York City. So, occasionally, to break the routine in the middle of the afternoon I have my iced coffee, or like today, I woke up having iced coffee instead of my regular cappuccino.

When I was a little girl, my mom used to take my sister and me to walk under the warm Caracas rain, then we splashed in the puddles. The big lesson I learned from those walks was that we have the power of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

That may be the reason when I went go to college I chose journalism: a career in which the routine was nothing more than a word in the dictionary and where daily life was to face the extraordinary things (good and bad) happening in the world.

There is no way for me to do the same thing every day. At this point of my life I already know what I like and what I don’t, and when the routine attacks, I go against boredom, fiercely and break it!
That is one of the reasons I cook and create new recipes all the time. Even when I spend hours writing, I secretly enjoy the fact what I write is different every day. The only ritual that I don’t give up is my cup of coffee when I wake up. And today I decided that to break the routine and that’s the reason I’m having this delicious granita with NESCAFÉ© Classic™.

That’s the way I am.

I’ll share my coffee granita recipe but first, please watch this video and tell me what you think this way to break the routine:
Iced coffee | Ingredients for 1 serving
1 cup skim milk
1 cup ice
1 tablespoon NESCAFÉ© Clásico™
1 tablespoon sugar

Directions
Put all ingredients in a blender.
Blend until a slush is formed.

Serve immediately.
