The Simpler, the Better: Baked Sweet Potatoes Wedges

I know sometimes I'm monothematic. I’m in the middle of a frenzy with grains (especially with the corn and black beans) and can’t stop eating sweet potatoes. However, in spite of my creativity, my children don't eat sweet potatoes. What they don’t know is that I have a sweet potato pie in mind and I’m sure they will devour it believing it’s pumpkin pie ha! Rightly say revenge is a dessert to be served cold…

I love pasta. But as far as Andrés Ignacio (11) and Tomás Eugenio (9) I'm concerned, pasta has long been the vehicle to introduce them to all sorts of flavors: from meat to cream and vegetable sauces, including a variety of pesto with herbs and all kind of nuts.

Flavorful Black Bean and Grilled Corn Salad with Cilantro

I have a love affair with legumes. There's nothing I like more than a soup of lentils, black beans, red beans, black-eyed peas, lima beans or chickpeas... But since this is not the time of year for hot soups, I make them in salads (and even created my so yummy black bean hummus.) They are a source of protein with no fat or cholesterol and I must be getting older because now I worry about these things that I didn’t care about before. C'est la vie...

Flavorful Black Bean Hummus with Cumin and Jalapeño

I had this recipe between the eyes. Until I set to work and, as if someone had given it me, was perfect the first time I made it. This is my free version is the classic chickpea hummus. But instead of chickpeas I made it with black beans.
